Mijas Golf - Los Olivos Course

During the last decades, Mijas Golf has become one of the most popular golf complexes in Europe, known by the outstanding condition of their courses and the friendly atmosphere and excellent service provided to the clients.

The two courses, Los Lagos and Los Olivos, are situated in the valley of Mijas, north of Fuengirola, only twenty minutes from the Málaga international airport and Marbella, and 3.5 kms. from the sea.

Los Olivos, Mijas Golf’s second course, was constructed originally between 1983-1984, designed by Robert Trent Senior. It has recently been totally refurbished (2000-2001), its main feature which distinguishes this course from The Lakes is the abundance of trees - hence the name - and its smaller size, as well as fewer water hazards. The greens are smaller, undulating and well defended. Although both are the work of the same designer, there is no doubt there are interesting contrasts between the two courses: if Los Lagos are based on hazards of water and sand, Los Olivos is strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated greens.

Both courses pay homage to the architect's philosophy "difficult Par, easy Bogey" -, with very little rough, plenty of water and relatively flat.

 The Mijas Golf Shop can be found situated in the main building next to the Golf Reception. In it, you can find all types of equipment and accessories with which to practise golf. As well as this, our two golf professionals are at your service to help everyone who is interested in this marvellous sport.

The Club House is an old Andalusian cortijo (farmhouse), and beside it, one can feel the continual buzz on the terraces of the Restaurant, where the variety of our clientele can be noticed; Mijas Golf has managed to mix, with success, the residents on the area with visitors from all over the world.
