Mediterraneo Golf
Mediterraneo Golf Castellon, Castellon, Castellon SPAIN

The Club de Campo del Mediterráneo in the hills overlooking Castellón, is a focal point for the enjoyment of golf in the Valencian Community. To find the Club de Campo del Mediterraneo you leave behind the fantastic view over Castellon and the Mediteranian north of Valencia, as you drop behind the hills and into a green valley, where in lies the course. And what an oasis! Peacocks, swans, red squirrels, palm trees, artificial water hazards, excellent greens and good quality fairways all await.

The 18-hole layout at the Club de Campo del mediterraneo embodies all that is good about parkland Spanish golf. Designed by Ramon Espinosa, the course is integrated perfectly into the surroundings, and has been in play since 1978, maturing into a modern day golfing gem that receives real appreciation from the more discerning golfer.

Laid out amongst olive, poplar and carob trees in a wide valley slightly inland from the coast, Mediterraneo is blessed with a fine mix of testing holes, interspersed with some that are more subtly demanding. The three holes around the turn -starting at the 9th - are particularly more difficult; the short par four 10th plays uphill to a tiered putting surface with out of bounds to the left and back of the green, and the 18th is a great closing hole that doglegs left to a green protected by sentinel bunkers in front of the clubhouse. Overall quality is good, ensuring this remains one of Spain's hidden gems.

It has a wide and finished area for practice, and the Club House facilities include buggies, clubs and trolleys for hire, dressing rooms, a Proshop, golf lessons,  and a Cafeteria-Restaurant with typical Mediterranean food.
