Alhaurin Golf

Alhaurín Golf is a truly beautiful course overlooking the Mijas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea .

Apart from its magnificent Severiano Ballesteros designed par 72 course, Alhaurín Golf features superb practising facilities with a spacious natural grass driving range, putting green, chipping green and a pretty 9 hole par 3 academy course.

Alhaurin Golf offers a spectacular 18 hole course which allows you to use all the clubs in the bag ensuring a great day of golf where every hole is different. The course is made up of 5 par fives, 5 par threes and 8 par fours providing a balanced game for low and high handicappers alike.

Water only comes into play on three holes and greens are lightly guarded by bunkers in most cases.

The trees and plants within the course are typically Mediterranean with plenty of pine trees, Spanish oaks, cypress, orange trees, palms and olives plus a wide range of aromatic plants like thyme and rosemary.

Hole number 6, par 5 dogleg right, is one of those every golfer must play. The views from tee and green are simply outstanding. Big hitters may take on the dogleg and reach the green in two.

Alhaurin Golf's practice area comprises a fantastic natural grass driving range, chipping green with bunkers, putting green and a par 3 nine hole academy course.

ETIQUETE RULES

Golf course 

- Repair pitch marks and replace divots. 

- Re-sand the divots on the tees. 

- Rake the bunkers. 

- Keep buggies on the PATHS. 

- Keep noise down to a minimum. Loud voices travel within the valley and can be heard from great distances and can be nuisance to your fellow golfers. 

- A 2 ball has preference over a 3 and 4 ball group unless a slow game occurs and the way forward is not clear. Slow players must always give way to others or go to the next hole. 

- Alhaurin Golf staff are entitled to put different players together in order to better level the flow of the course.

Dress code 

All players, caddies and members of the public are requested to dress according to "golf etiquette" when using the golf course; jeans, T-shirts, swimming shorts, tracksuits, mini skirts, bikinis, boots, flat soled shoes, sandals, caps or visors not facing to the front are not allowed.

Correct "golf etiquette" is collared shirts, tailored golf shorts or long trousers and soft spike golf shoes.

Practice area

- Practice only within the ropes placed on the ground or on the golf mats placed in the undercover area. 

- Keep a safe distance from other players. 

- The putting green is for putting only; no approach shots or chipping is allowed. 

- Range balls are only for use on the driving range. 

- Keep noise down to a minimum at all times to allow other people to concentrate.
